Mindfulness is defined as “the quality or state of being conscious or aware of something”. We can bring mindfulness to anything we do in our lives by becoming more aware of our breathing. Breathwork has a variety of health benefits that can assist in improving your physical and mental health. While there are many different variety of breathwork, it is important to to focus your attention on controlled inhaling and exhaling and be in tune with yourself. At Sunnyside Physical Therapy and Wellness we first teach our clients on diaphragmatic breathing during treatment to increase blood flow; calm the nervous system and therefore creating positive changes in mind, body and spirit. We truly believe that with the right physical exercise, meditation, proper nutrition we can promote a better sense of wellbeing and live a healthy happy pain free life.
